Walt Prue is the managing senior Internet engineer in the external networking group of the Information Technology Services division (ITS) of the University of Southern California. He has been the lead engineer for Los Nettos since the inception of the network in 1988.
Walt has been in the data communications industry for more than thirty-four years, designing and running both operational and experimental networks. He has been involved in developing data communications software, as well as designing, maintaining, and implementing wide-area networks such as Los Nettos, Corenet and DARTNET, CalREN and CalREN2.
Prior to joining USC's Information Sciences Institute in 1987, Walt worked for Xerox and the Computer Sciences Corporation, among other companies. He joined ITS in 2003, along with the rest of the Los Nettos and colocation group, when the group's projects were moved from ISI.
